On the Road

"On the Road", is a series of progressive paintings that show that while we are on our journey, our path in life, there are many obstacles and terrors in our path. Even while driving on our path, we can only see so little of what is in front of us. Our "Driving Window", so to speak. But if we look, we can find guidance, there is divine guidance available, if we will heed it loving direction. Read poem here.

On the Road, by Daryl Urig

Racing, calm, rushing, glimpses of ever changing, animated landscapes. Where am I, who am I, where am I going so fast?

I see a part here, a part there, but this road, this path, we are all on it. It is connected as we are all connected; what’s that; even the clear is unclear. I see in subtle shades of grey, everything around seems to fade in and out like putting on and taking off of corrective eye glasses that help me to see, but am I seeing everything?

The glass before my eyes adds to the complexity, as I hold onto things others may not have, others may see differently than I, what is the same?

The guidance that I see along the roadway enlightens my path, it shows me the way to go, sometimes even that is faint and obscured, but it is there for everyone, stop, go, yield, wait, provide the guidance in my life I need. Show me the truth, the unseen, let me see as life really is, as my heart tells me life is, show me life beyond what is seen.
