PAINTING KNIFE - Get Out of the Box I have found that instructing artist with painting knives or as they are sometimes called, palette knives to be hugely valuable. Helping students to Get out of their box. I would even insist that all painters spend a year with painting knives. Painting knives can teach us so much about painting, color, mixing of colors, our approach to painting and creating space with color and texture. The benefits can be appreciated by the STUDIO or PLEIN-AIR painter. This should not be overlooked by any serious painter. All Levels Welcome, Acrylic or OIl Paint. See details and locations below.. Nationally Acclaimed oil painter Daryl Urig will provide a unique presentation of rich instruction on the benefits of having an actionable plan and proven step-by-step procedure for capturing great on-location paintings. In this beautiful Red Rock country near Zion National Park.
From creating dynamic compositions, mixing rich colors, and capturing fleeting light and shadow with lively paint, many factors come into play when painting outdoors. Will we use a brush or a palette knife? All mediums welcome, demonstrations will be in oil paint.
